Bio - Deborah Hawkins
Deborah Hawkins is a certified
integrative coach and facilitator, an accomplished writer and speaker,
an emerging media spokesperson for national equality, and has
facilitated workshops and tele-classes across the country. Deborah is a
member of the Board of Directors of Imago Relationships International
and brings almost ten years experience as a Master Coach and
Facilitator. Deborah also incorporates her knowledge and skill in her
teaching and coaching from nearly twenty years in the field of corporate
banking. This diverse background coupled with her passion for
understanding and supporting people gives her extraordinary insight into
personal development.
Deborah is a graduate of the Ford
Institute for Integrative Coaching, with advanced professional
designations of Certified Master Integrative Coach and Master Level
Tele-class Facilitator. Deborah is currently collaborating on a book
with her son David Hawkins, in a continued effort to create more
awareness for parents and families of gay children. David, who resides
in Brooklyn, New York, is a lifestyle media writer and a regarded media
consultant for a variety of lifestyle and LGBT associated projects.
In 2008 Deborah and her husband Chris
were interviewed at their home in Easley, South Carolina alongside David
for a segment on ABC’s, Primetime 20/20. The show focused on a possible
gay gene found in children. Deborah was honored to share her thoughts
and experiences around raising her son and to offer hope and guidance to
those families who struggle with the acceptance of their gay children.
The show afforded her and her family an opportunity to convey their
perspectives and feelings about this important issue in hopes of
encouraging other families to openly communicate with each other for the
purpose of emotional healing.
